Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: xilolo at none against StarTimes ON's 21. xilolo also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months). StarTimes ON's advantage is ratings volume (215 vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. StarTimes ON sells 21 one-off in-app purchases. xilolo asks for nothing beyond the download.
StarTimes ON holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StarTimes ON has 215 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of StarTimes ON's written reviews are positive against 50% of xilolo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
StarTimes ON ships an update every 2 months, xilolo every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
