Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Maisonette at 4.9 against Plus's 4.3. Maisonette also leads on update cadence (every 11 days vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (64% vs 44%). Plus's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Maisonette holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Maisonette has 2.8K ratings behind it against 116, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 44% of Plus's written reviews are positive against 64% of Maisonette's.
Plus ships an update every 2 months, Maisonette every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
