Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Galaxy8000 at 5.0 against Guard Live's 3.3. Galaxy8000 also leads on iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.0). Guard Live's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 16 months) and review sentiment (34% vs 13%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Galaxy8000 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Guard Live has 45 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 13% of Galaxy8000's written reviews are positive against 34% of Guard Live's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Galaxy8000 ships an update every 16 months, Guard Live weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
