Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Kanopy against 4.9 for DNRcast. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Kanopy has 153K ratings behind it against 100, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 72% of Kanopy's written reviews are positive against 96% of DNRcast's.
Kanopy ships an update every 2 weeks, DNRcast every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
