The new and improved Wasp Asset mobile app is here. Take control of your organization's asset management — from the palm of your hand. Wasp Asset gives teams a fast, reliable way to manage assets across every location. Whether you're tracking laptops, equipment, furniture, or tools, Wasp Asset keeps everything accounted for and your records accurate in real time. Wasp Asset shines on a Wasp DR mobile computer with its dedicated barcode scanner, but works well on any smartphone using the built-in camera. Check assets out and back in when they return. Relocate assets between sites with a few taps, formally dispose of assets that have reached end of life, and add or update asset records directly from the app — all with a complete audit trail behind every action. Perform asset audits to physically account for items and reconcile their recorded locations against reality. A running feed of recent activity keeps your whole team informed, and powerful search across asset type, site, assignee, and status means the right record is always a tap away — whether you manage 50 or 500,000 assets. This initial release focuses on individual fixed assets and requires an active internet connection; offline mode, mobile printing, multi-quantity assets, grouped asset actions, RFID scanning, and maintenance workflows are planned for future updates. Features: - Check out and check in assets - Move assets between locations - Create new assets - Edit existing asset records - Conduct audits and reconcile asset locations - Dispose of end-of-life assets - Filter by type, site, assignee, status, etc. - View recent asset activity A paid Wasp Asset subscription is required to use this app.

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Wasp Asset at 100% against Microsoft Azure's 29%. Microsoft Azure's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.2) and monetization model (free vs subscription). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Microsoft Azure holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Microsoft Azure has 2.8K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of Microsoft Azure's written reviews are positive against 100% of Wasp Asset's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
