Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is monetization model: Field Console at free against Verizon Protect's free with in-app purchases. Field Console also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). Verizon Protect's advantage is ratings volume (45K vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
