Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: MASC at free against ASRV's free with in-app purchases. ASRV's advantage is ratings volume (2K vs 10) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for MASC against 4.9 for ASRV. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ASRV has 2K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 83% of MASC's written reviews are positive against 81% of ASRV's.
MASC ships an update every 6 weeks, ASRV fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
