Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Untethered Space at 100% against Spaces's 7%. Untethered Space also leads on rating (5.0 vs 3.4) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Spaces's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 9 months) and ratings volume (118 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Spaces ships an update fortnightly, Untethered Space every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
