Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is ratings volume: HockeyTracker at 1K against Split's 1. Split's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HockeyTracker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Split sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Split holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HockeyTracker has 1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

HockeyTracker ships an update fortnightly, Split monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
