Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Eat.chat at 3.0 against Philz Coffee's 2.2. Eat.chat also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 3 weeks). Philz Coffee's advantage is review sentiment (23% vs 0%) and chart position (#202 vs unranked). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Eat.chat holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Philz Coffee has 14 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 23% of Philz Coffee's written reviews are positive against 0% of Eat.chat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Philz Coffee ships an update every 3 weeks, Eat.chat every 10 days. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
