Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Heritage Auctions at 4.8 against GreatCollections's 4.1. Heritage Auctions also leads on ratings volume (5K vs 10). GreatCollections's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 60%) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Heritage Auctions holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Heritage Auctions has 5K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Heritage Auctions's written reviews are positive against 100% of GreatCollections's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Heritage Auctions ships an update every 6 weeks, GreatCollections monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
