Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Bow Tie Bar® at free against Boot Barn's free with in-app purchases. Bow Tie Bar® also leads on update cadence (weekly vs monthly) and review sentiment (68% vs 52%). Boot Barn's advantage is ratings volume (30K vs 136) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Boot Barn holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Boot Barn has 30K ratings behind it against 136, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of Bow Tie Bar®'s written reviews are positive against 52% of Boot Barn's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Bow Tie Bar® ships an update weekly, Boot Barn monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
