Find your Mister Softee truck in the Bay Area. See where our trucks are on a live map, save the places that matter to you, and get a heads-up when a truck is close by. LIVE MAP Trucks appear on the map while they're out, updated continuously through the afternoon and evening. Every pin shows how recently it was seen, so you always know what you're looking at. YOUR PLACES Save home, work, a park, or anywhere else you'd want to catch us. Type an address - no need to be standing there. A HEADS-UP WHEN WE'RE CLOSE Turn on alerts and we'll let you know when a truck is getting near one of your saved places. Quiet hours are built in, and we deliberately keep alerts rare: no spam, no repeats, no buzzing all afternoon. CROWD TIPS Big group at the park? Let us know about a gathering happening right now. If we're close, we will try to make it there. WHEN A TRUCK IS AT A PRIVATE EVENT Trucks booked for private events still show on the map, clearly labeled, so you know they're not available to flag down. Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Mister Softee NorCal at 2.7 against Mister Softee's 2.4. Mister Softee's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (556 vs 60). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Mister Softee NorCal holds the better App Store score, 2.7 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mister Softee has 556 ratings behind it against 60, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 12% of Mister Softee NorCal's written reviews are positive against 23% of Mister Softee's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Mister Softee NorCal ships an update every 2 months, Mister Softee every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
