Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: UniFi Verify at 4.9 against WatchGuard AuthPoint's 4.3. UniFi Verify also leads on ratings volume (12K vs 44). WatchGuard AuthPoint's advantage is review sentiment (53% vs 34%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
UniFi Verify holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UniFi Verify has 12K ratings behind it against 44, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of WatchGuard AuthPoint's written reviews are positive against 34% of UniFi Verify's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
