Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: EMC Security at 4.7 against Connect+ Installer's 3.9. EMC Security also leads on ratings volume (5.3K vs 15) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). Connect+ Installer's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 41%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

EMC Security holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EMC Security has 5.3K ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Connect+ Installer's written reviews are positive against 41% of EMC Security's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Connect+ Installer ships an update every 3 months, EMC Security every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
