Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Watts® Home at 4.6 against SOMweb's 3.0. Watts® Home also leads on ratings volume (3.7K vs 4) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 6 months). SOMweb's advantage is review sentiment (44% vs 28%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Watts® Home holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Watts® Home has 3.7K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of SOMweb's written reviews are positive against 28% of Watts® Home's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
SOMweb ships an update every 6 months, Watts® Home every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
