Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Monarch Wallet holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Monarch Wallet has 394 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Monarch Wallet's written reviews are positive against 89% of DFunds's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Monarch Wallet ships an update every 3 weeks, DFunds monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
