Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: WP Event Manager at 100% against WooCommerce's 44%. WP Event Manager also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). WooCommerce's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.0) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
WooCommerce holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WooCommerce has 7.9K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of WooCommerce's written reviews are positive against 100% of WP Event Manager's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
WooCommerce ships an update fortnightly, WP Event Manager every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
