Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Split Pay at none against Flex's shown. Split Pay also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Flex's advantage is ratings volume (489K vs 16K) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Flex against 4.9 for Split Pay. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flex has 489K ratings behind it against 16K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 79% of Flex's written reviews are positive against 73% of Split Pay's.
Flex ships an update weekly, Split Pay fortnightly. Both last shipped on September 24, 2026.
