Verdict
Fat Cats Fun and HitTips both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of HitTips's written reviews are positive against 38% of Fat Cats Fun's. HitTips also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 6 weeks). Fat Cats Fun's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (2K vs 2). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HitTips sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month. Fat Cats Fun asks for nothing beyond the download.
HitTips holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fat Cats Fun has 2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 38% of Fat Cats Fun's written reviews are positive against 100% of HitTips's.
Fat Cats Fun ships an update every 6 weeks, HitTips every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and September 17, 2026 respectively.
