DERM - VAT Module is an application designed to enable the use of the VAT module on smartphones. The Vulnerability Assessment Tool (VAT) is a DERM tool designed to provide a deterministic assessment of gaps in the security systems protecting a given asset. Its aim is to minimize assessor subjectivity while making the assessment as comprehensive and targeted as possible. By operationalizing international standards and best practices, VAT establishes a benchmark for each area under assessment, against which potential gaps in the security system can be identified and measured. The adoption of a quantitative approach, capable of combining different types of risk within a single process through a dedicated standardization methodology, helps overcome the fragmentation that would otherwise be inherent in the vulnerability assessment of a given asset. VAT uses a checklist-based methodology, consisting of closed-ended questions organized into sections. These sections vary depending on the type of site being assessed, while the number of questions depends on the threat level associated with the asset under assessment.
