Energy is the lifeblood of our society and economy and as the National Energy System Operator, we operate the electricity system in real time and plan the future of the gas and electricity networks. In our role as the operator of the electricity system, we have an ambition to be able to operate GBs electricity network carbon free by 2025. The NESO app allows you to monitor the generation types that make up your electricity supply and see when the cleanest time to use electricity will be. You can see the carbon impact level of electricity generation, how your region compares to others in GB and be notified when a record towards decarbonisation breaks. Information on the operation of the gas system can be found in the National Gas app, available on iOS. We welcome feedback about the app and its content.
