Use of this app requires a compatible MTA router. MTA Home Shield is the combination of a secure router, an advanced security app and industry-leading cloud protection. Home Shield easily secures every connected thing in your home using one device, now and in the future. Three-layer protection is the missing piece of your connected home. • SECURE ROUTER: The Home Shield router secures your entire home network, protecting every connected thing from online threats. • SECURE APP: The Home Shield app both manages your home network and protects your devices. • CLOUD PROTECTION: Industry-leading security cloud monitors your network for threats in real time. Every new device in our home network is a potential back door into our digital lives, since most new connected things aren’t designed to be secure. MTA Home Shield protects everything connected in your home, from desktop computers and phones to smart TVs and baby monitors. Its IoT security technology senses traffic from connected devices to provide extra protection against IoT threats.

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: MTA Home Shield at 2.1 against MPro Mesh's 1.3. MPro Mesh's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 6 months vs every 22 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

MTA Home Shield holds the better App Store score, 2.1 against 1.3. Written reviews complicate that: 3% of MPro Mesh's written reviews are positive against 0% of MTA Home Shield's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
MPro Mesh ships an update every 6 months, MTA Home Shield every 22 months. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
