You're driving down a Texas highway and you pass one of those black and gray historical markers. You can't pull over. You've always wondered what it said. TexasLandmarks answers that question before the sign is out of your mirror. Every one of Texas's 13,000+ official Texas Historical Commission markers is in the app, full sign text included, so you can read the whole story even though you never stopped the car. The app shows your distance and direction to nearby markers, with an "ahead of you" filter so you can see what's coming up before you get there. Adjust the search radius from 1 to 50 miles, filter by 500+ categories (battle sites, cemeteries, forts, courthouses, ghost towns, and more), and tap through to Apple Maps for turn-by-turn directions when you do want to stop. Turn on proximity notifications and it'll let you know when something historical is nearby, even if you're not looking at your phone. Found something worth sharing? Share it. Everything runs off a database built into the app. No signal required, no loading spinner on a backroad with no bars. ### 100% Free, No Catch TexasLandmarks is free.
