Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Numerade at 49% against Coursology's 16%. Coursology's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (4.6K vs 644). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Numerade sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Coursology sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Coursology holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Coursology has 4.6K ratings behind it against 644, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of Numerade's written reviews are positive against 16% of Coursology's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 22, 2026.
