Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: FIVI at free against The MICHELIN Guide's free with in-app purchases. FIVI also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). The MICHELIN Guide's advantage is ratings volume (7.6K vs 1) and update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for FIVI against 4.9 for The MICHELIN Guide. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The MICHELIN Guide has 7.6K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
FIVI ships an update monthly, The MICHELIN Guide every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 8, 2026 respectively.
