Needs improving

Guilherme, If you are experiencing slowness when trying to view rates that is likely due to internet connectivity. Since we do not store price data like other booking sites, the real-time pricing may be impacted if there are broader internet issues. If it is happening often, make sure you are using the latest app and reach out to customer service so we can help you identify the issue.
No offline mode

That's correct you need an internet connection to view the selection. The selection is now updated weekly so it's very different than the way the books worked. We'll take into consideration an export option for your lists for future releases,

Better add names in local language
Data harvesting
Great for finding places to eat!
I wish the app had a legend so we could better understand the icons and prices ranges in each country. Also some of the restaurants closures are not always clear in the app when comparing the data with Google.
Lots of improvements
Une incompréhensible absence !
A minima, ces nouvelles tables ont leur place dans votre sélection et nous sommes nombreux à penser qu’elles méritent un macaron !
Great when it works

sniper464, Is this still the case? If you are having repeated crashes please reach out to the contact information in the app so they can resolve the problems you are having
Account required
한국어 제발
Recent update forces users to give personal data
There is absolutely no reason to suddenly start forcing users to make an account except to harvest their data. If they wanted to use features where an account would be necessary, such as for saving restaurants or leaving reviews, they would obviously just create one.
Edit: the developer responded with straight lies. Accounts were not required before an update shortly before my review; I used it regularly without. The reasons they give are obviously nonsense. Viewing the same information on their website does not require an account. Forcing users to sign up is obviously just a cynical ploy to collect personal data.

RESPONSE:: Patrick, the Guide is not a public service, it's a tireless effort from a large number of people across the globe dedicated to the art of gastronomy and travel. The app is a different product from the website and we made the decision to require accounts for the best user experience – it is not used for data harvesting but to securely store and facilitate personalization. It is possible your previous version did not yet have the features requiring an account. If you are concerned about your data you can minimize your footprint by taking the following steps: 1. Use Apple's Private-Relay to protect your email address 2. Do not accept GDPR and turn off tracking (this is anonymous anyway). 3. Do not consent to the iOS 3rd party tracking. You can also use the website, or even Apple Maps, if you are simply looking to find selections. ORIGINAL: Patrick, accounts have been required for almost 2 years now so it is not the update. The app is much more than being able to look at restaurants and to utilize the enhanced features you will need an account. There is an article accessible from the start screen that explains why. We do not share any data with 3rd parties. If you are only intending to look at restaurants the website is probably the best platform for you. Keep in mind that you may use Apple's private-relay if you are concerned about your email address (which is all that is required).
Require account
I can see setting up an account IF you want to save favorites or whatever, but this is ridiculous.
Oui mais…
Response from developer
Oui!
Uninstalled for requiring email
The app developer claims that they don’t do anything with the data. They claim that I have to have an account so that I can save restaurants or something. I don’t need those features, and I don’t need this app. Very distasteful to me.

CSSP1, As noted in the other responses we require an account in order to securely store your content (reviews, lists, etc..) created in the app. We do not share or use that data with 3rd parties. In addition the account creation supports private relay through Apple that hides your email so if you are concerned that is a good option. Also keep in mind that historically each Guide per country required being purchased separately - with the App you have access to both the hotels & restaurants globally for free. The mobile website is an option as well but that too will be requiring an account soon.
