“Staggeringly useful.” - Dan Etheridge, producer of Veronica Mars and Party Down We’ve made the best screenplay reader even better. Weekend Read 2 makes reading screenplays delightful by optimizing scripts for iPhone and iPad retina screens. Never squint and pinch to read a script again. Whether reading from a PDF or a native file like Final Draft or Fountain, Weekend Read 2 gives you the tools to make every screenplay a smooth and easy read. Created by screenwriter John August and the team behind the award-winning Highland, Weekend Read 2 has Hollywood talking. “With Weekend Read, John August and his crafty elves have taken something that was the worst thing, namely reading scripts on a mobile device, and turned it into the best thing. I find it more pleasant to read a script in Weekend Read on my 4-inch iPhone screen than to read a PDF in proper screenplay format on my iPad. I even prefer it to reading full-sized paper scripts.” - Rian Johnson, writer-director (Knives Out, Poker Face, Star Wars: The Last Jedi) “Weekend Read started as an app I didn’t know I needed and quickly became an app I can’t live without. Weekend Read keeps you on top of your reading pile, not buried under it. It’s seriously amazing.” - Rawson Thurber, writer-director (Red Notice, Dodgeball) “This is the perfect solution I’ve been fantasizing about - it makes reading scripts (or anything) on the iPhone not just tolerable, not just painless, but actually a pleasure!” - David Wain, writer/director/EP (Wet Hot American Summer, Role Models) Weekend Read supports PDFs, Final Draft .fdx, .highland, plain text, and Markdown files. Features: * Customizable Reading: Choose from an updated selection of fonts and text sizes for a personalized reading experience. * Character Highlighting: Highlight your lines with ease. * Read Aloud: Have the script read to you at up to 2x speed. * Notes: Add page-specific notes and export them to collaborators. * Dark Mode: Enjoy night reading with optimized dark mode. * Page Jumper: Quickly navigate through long documents. * Library: Curate your own library of scripts. * Discover: Find new scripts from our rotating categories of curated screenplays and books. * Optimized for iOS: Enjoy a seamless reading experience across all your iOS devices. Keep track of your games and have them with you all the time using this app! The app "Inventory: Game Collection" allows you to keep track of the games you own. You can filter by platforms or status and create tags to further organise your collection. An import function makes transition from other solutions or spreadsheets easy. To make your games really stand out, "Inventory" has a sleek, non-intrusive design while offering essential features. When making it, I aimed for an experience that makes it fun to look at your collection and presents your games in a beautiful way. Adding your games is really easy, just use the search-feature and "Inventory" pre-fills information like the game's release date and cover image. Of course it's also possible to customise any information and add your own cover image. You can also do a bulk import of many games, using a CSV-file. If you already have cover images for your games, you can import them as well. This makes it easy for you to transition to this app from another solution or a spreadsheet you may already have. I want you to be in control of your data and not be locked-in with this app. That's why you can easily make a full backup of all your games to a simple spreadsheet, including cover images! If at any time you would rather switch to another solution, or want to make a backup of your data, just export it! All your games are synchronized to iCloud, so you can use the app across devices as well. FEATURES - Simple, sleek design. Looks nice in dark-mode and light-mode. - Two ways of looking at your collection: in a list (more information) and as tiles (bigger covers). - Search the internet when adding new games and pre-fill information. - Organise your collection by platforms, status or tags. - Add "moments" with cool screenshots you took or to note down your thoughts on a game. - Look back at previous years with the Rewind-feature and decide your game of the year! - Add metadata for the region of a game: Important for collectors! - Import lots of games through a CSV-file. - Stay in control of your data with the export-feature. - Use across devices with full iCloud sync. I plan to further improve the app and add more features. Please tell me any feedback or wishes you have and I'll try to include them. You can contact me via the app. PRICING The app is free and offers all features for adding up to five games. If you like the app, I'd appreciate if you would support development and server-costs by buying any of the included in-app purchases - you can choose yourself how much you want to pay. Any of them unlocks adding unlimited games. Please note that all of the game covers shown in the screenshots above are merely to demonstrate the functionality of the app and all trademarks and copyrights belong to their respective owners.

Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Inventory at 90% against Weekend Read 2's 42%. Weekend Read 2's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 3.3) and ratings volume (132 vs 4). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Weekend Read 2 sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Inventory sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Weekend Read 2 holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Weekend Read 2 has 132 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of Weekend Read 2's written reviews are positive against 90% of Inventory's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Weekend Read 2 ships an update every 5 weeks, Inventory every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
