“Staggeringly useful.” - Dan Etheridge, producer of Veronica Mars and Party Down We’ve made the best screenplay reader even better. Weekend Read 2 makes reading screenplays delightful by optimizing scripts for iPhone and iPad retina screens. Never squint and pinch to read a script again. Whether reading from a PDF or a native file like Final Draft or Fountain, Weekend Read 2 gives you the tools to make every screenplay a smooth and easy read. Created by screenwriter John August and the team behind the award-winning Highland, Weekend Read 2 has Hollywood talking. “With Weekend Read, John August and his crafty elves have taken something that was the worst thing, namely reading scripts on a mobile device, and turned it into the best thing. I find it more pleasant to read a script in Weekend Read on my 4-inch iPhone screen than to read a PDF in proper screenplay format on my iPad. I even prefer it to reading full-sized paper scripts.” - Rian Johnson, writer-director (Knives Out, Poker Face, Star Wars: The Last Jedi) “Weekend Read started as an app I didn’t know I needed and quickly became an app I can’t live without. Weekend Read keeps you on top of your reading pile, not buried under it. It’s seriously amazing.” - Rawson Thurber, writer-director (Red Notice, Dodgeball) “This is the perfect solution I’ve been fantasizing about - it makes reading scripts (or anything) on the iPhone not just tolerable, not just painless, but actually a pleasure!” - David Wain, writer/director/EP (Wet Hot American Summer, Role Models) Weekend Read supports PDFs, Final Draft .fdx, .highland, plain text, and Markdown files. Features: * Customizable Reading: Choose from an updated selection of fonts and text sizes for a personalized reading experience. * Character Highlighting: Highlight your lines with ease. * Read Aloud: Have the script read to you at up to 2x speed. * Notes: Add page-specific notes and export them to collaborators. * Dark Mode: Enjoy night reading with optimized dark mode. * Page Jumper: Quickly navigate through long documents. * Library: Curate your own library of scripts. * Discover: Find new scripts from our rotating categories of curated screenplays and books. * Optimized for iOS: Enjoy a seamless reading experience across all your iOS devices. Grow brave, kind, and ready. I built StoriesForMe because my son couldn't handle losing. Every competition he didn't win turned into a rough night. I wanted him to hear a story about a kid just like him who got it, and figured out the next step, so I wrote one for him. Now he asks for his brave story before every game. You tell us what your kid is working through. We write them a bedtime story starring a kid like them, finding a way through it. Here's what you can pick from. Fears. The dark, doctors, storms, monsters, loud noises, thunder. Big changes. Moving, a new school, a new baby, a parent traveling, a new routine. Social stuff. Making friends, sharing, feeling left out, being bullied. Losing and mistakes. Blowing a game, breaking something, falling out with a friend. Big feelings. Anger, sadness, jealousy, frustration, feeling overwhelmed. Pick one. Your child hears a story about a kid with their name, their age, and a few traits that make them *them*. Warm narration. Five to fifteen minutes, depending. Works at bedtime, in the car on the way to the dentist, and in the ten minutes before the first day of anything. Every story ends with a couple of gentle questions you can ask together if your kid wants to keep talking. "How did Emma feel when it got dark?" Stuff like that. Not a quiz. How parents actually use it Some come for one specific worry their kid has this week. Pick the worry, listen to the story, have a calmer bedtime. Some are building character on purpose. We have collections around six traits: empathy, courage, kindness, grit, honesty, patience. Each collection is a set of stories that build on each other, so your kid gets a small journey instead of a one-off. Some are bracing for a big day. First day of school, new baby, moving weekend, a sleepover. Listen to a few stories in the days leading up to it, and the thing your kid is nervous about already feels a little bit known by the time it happens. Works with Yoto Send any story to your child's Yoto card with one tap. Screen-free listening, wherever your kid wants to sit with it.
