Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Picun Audio at 1.6 against SmallGoGo's 1.0. Picun Audio also leads on ratings volume (31 vs 4). SmallGoGo's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 7 months) and review sentiment (15% vs 6%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Picun Audio holds the better App Store score, 1.6 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Picun Audio has 31 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of SmallGoGo's written reviews are positive against 6% of Picun Audio's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
SmallGoGo ships an update every 3 months, Picun Audio every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
