Sleigh List keeps everyone you buy for, everything you plan to give them, and what it all costs in one place, on your iPhone, with no account and no subscription. PAY ONCE, IF AT ALL Five people are free, with every single feature switched on. Unlimited people and no ads is one payment of $3.99. Nothing is locked behind the paywall: not budgets, not the shopping list, not secret mode, not the year archive, not reminders, not sharing. There is no subscription in this app and there never will be. KNOW WHERE THE MONEY IS GOING Give each person a budget and the whole list one, and Sleigh List does the arithmetic: spent, planned, and what is left, per person and overall. It tells you when a plan has already gone past the budget, before the money leaves your account. Amounts are added up to the penny. FOUR STAGES, ONE TAP Every gift is an idea, bought, wrapped or given. Tap the pill to move it on. The shopping list groups every gift for everybody by stage, so the screen you open in a shop shows exactly what is still to buy. SECRET MODE Turn it on and gift names show as dots until you tap one, so the app can be opened at the kitchen table with the people the presents are for sitting right there. Prices and budgets stay visible. A NEW YEAR IN ONE TAP When Christmas is over, start a fresh list. Everyone carries over with their budgets and this year is filed away, still readable, still shareable. ALSO IN THE APP • A note of the shop or link each gift came from, so you do not have to remember • Who each gift is from, for households that give presents together • Share the whole list, the shopping list or any past year as plain text • One optional reminder, however many days before Christmas you choose • Dark mode, large tap targets, and full VoiceOver labeling • Seven currency symbols WORKS WITH NO SIGNAL Everything is stored on your device. A shop with no reception, a plane, a relative's house with no wifi: the app behaves exactly the same. ADS, AND HOW FEW OF THEM The free version shows an occasional full-screen ad, and only ever at a natural stopping point: after you mark a gift bought, after you file a year away, or after you share your list. Never while you are typing, never during your first few times opening the app, and never when secret mode is on. They are non-personalized, the app does not ask to track you, and nothing about your list is ever sent to an advertiser. The one-time unlock removes them for good. WHAT SLEIGH LIST DOES NOT DO No analytics. No tracking. No account. No cloud sync. No subscription. No banner ads and nothing you have to sit through to keep using the app. It will ask you to rate it once, after ten gifts are bought, and never again. Your list lives only on this iPhone, so deleting the app deletes it too. Share your list as text first if you want to keep a copy.

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Sleigh List at 100% against Ruby Health's 23%. Sleigh List also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.3). Ruby Health's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (2K vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Sleigh List holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ruby Health has 2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 23% of Ruby Health's written reviews are positive against 100% of Sleigh List's.
