Dangerous app
My hemoglobin is 29.3 and ferritin is 5, but Ruby Health stops at 26 and claimed I am not anemic. I am medically diagnosed with severe anemia. I got this app to show my progress, but based on my experience this app is unsafe for anyone tracking their condition.
Does not seem to be reliable
I wanted this to work so I knew if I need to adjust my iron intake. I did this test two days in a row and there was a 2 point difference. The lower of the two numbers was done in my bathroom which has what claims to be a daylight light bulb and the higher number was done in a room with a standard led. I do the free version so I only use it when I feel off and need to know if it is iron or protein I need. hopefully one day this can be a lot more accurate because right now they're really aren't at home tests unless you get it from a different country and or pay an arm and a leg and I'm not going to run to the doctor every time there's a problem because it's pretty much pointless for a female in the US.

For the most consistent results, test near a bright window with indirect natural light, as shown in our tutorial. Would Not take pic of Nales
I could Not get it to take a picture of my Nails with my iPad, it kept saying move closer, but Nothing, would not take a picture, I have to delete the app, they better Not try and take money from me, I only hade it for an hour, and tried taking pics of my nails for 50 minutes.
Inaccurate
App kept showing deficient or low iron but got my lab results and it was 20 points higher than what the app was showing

Inaccurate results, interesting concept
I tested myself twice in indoor light and next to natural window light. Both tests from Ruby said I am not anemic when blood tests confirm I am severely anemic enough to require IV iron. I would not trust this app for any actual medical advice. Uninstall for me.

Unbelievably Accurate
My hemoglobin level as measured by this app gave me reason to have it checked by a lab. The lab’s result was identical to the app’s. It makes no sense but in my case it hit the nail on the head!
Most useless app
this app severely lacks accuracy. Readings are nowhere near close. for a healthy person with good hb levels and even after calibration, it shows hb level of 6.1. it needs a lot of work before it can be any useful. good idea but bad implementation. might be useful one day, not now.
Helps me to avoid IV iron
I use this app to help me avoid IV iron by increasing oral iron supplements when my numbers fall off
Beware doesn’t work
Showed hemoglobin as 12.2. Um no sorry it’s 5.3. With two real tests. Do not even think of using this to keep even slight track of your hemoglobin. I sure would hate for someone to end up critical using this app. However, the Concept is great if it worked or even semi worked.
Horrible
I wanted to see if this was actually helpful, told me im healthy. When in reality im super low and need to do blood transfusions
Terribly Inaccurate!
I first downloaded this app about a year ago and quickly realized the readings were very inaccurate. The tests always showed me in the healthy range, though I struggle constantly with iron deficient anemia. Today, my doctor ordered a blood transfusion after getting my lab results back. I decided to try the app to see if it detected the low levels. Nope, it gave me scores of 14+ both times I tested.
I can’t understand how they advertise this app as being effective if it’s so far off. Obviously it’s not meant to be diagnostic, but I can’t see it being helpful at all. I have read that these types of tests can be less accurate for people of color, but they should include a disclaimer if that’s the case. Bent fingers also have more pigment in the nail bed than when they are straight, so I wonder if that leads to higher readings.
Either way, I have no use for this trash app, so I deleted it today. Just want to warn people not to rely on it, especially if you are anemic.

Scam.
Used it twice during the trial period. Cancelled it before the trial period ended but was charged for a year subscription. I can’t get a response about a refund.
Needs work!
I love the concept of this but found it can become inaccurate. For example. I get a cbc ran often as I have Polycthemia Vera. I also have blood removed routinely because of my disease over producing red blood. I was trying to use this as a additional tool but find it becomes inaccurate over time. When I input my labs it then requires me to calibrate by taking another picture of my nails. Which for me is a problem as I also had a phlebotomy (blood removal) after my cbc. I can’t get around the calibration which also changed future readings to be higher than they are as the app can not differentiate the fact that I had 500 ml blood removed. What would be helpful as someone who really wants this to work due to a chronic blood cancer, would be to bypass calibration if needed. Perhaps a check box to skip calibration. Because once you input labs you have to do calibration and when I do that it messes with all future readings. So to bypass this I have had to create a whole new account with no calibration history. I really want this tool to be beneficial to me as having a chronic blood cancer where I make too much blood. I do not substitute this for Dr Care. I use in conjunction. The only work around I have for now is to do new account and make sure when entering lab results that I also do the calibration immediately when I get the lab results. Which is fine but now I have to do this at Dr Office right before they take 500 ml of blood. If I forget because I am being drained of my blood there is no way to bypass this calibration. Even reset the data feature in app might be useful. Deleting each input does nothing to correct. I’ve already tried.
