Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Illumivue at 3.5 against Deco TV Frames's 3.0. Illumivue also leads on ratings volume (32 vs 4) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.1). Deco TV Frames's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Illumivue holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Illumivue has 32 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 28% of Illumivue's written reviews are positive against 33% of Deco TV Frames's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Illumivue ships an update every 3 months, Deco TV Frames every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
