Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: OnBeat at 4.7 against BrickAI's 4.2. OnBeat also leads on ratings volume (2.4K vs 5). BrickAI's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 30%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. OnBeat sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and BrickAI sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
OnBeat holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OnBeat has 2.4K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of OnBeat's written reviews are positive against 67% of BrickAI's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
OnBeat ships an update fortnightly, BrickAI weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
