Verdict
BÉIS and Olivia Rose James both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Olivia Rose James's written reviews are positive against 62% of BÉIS's. Olivia Rose James also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). BÉIS's advantage is ratings volume (11K vs 2) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for BÉIS against 5.0 for Olivia Rose James. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BÉIS has 11K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 62% of BÉIS's written reviews are positive against 100% of Olivia Rose James's.
BÉIS ships an update fortnightly, Olivia Rose James every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
