Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Sbarro at 4.7 against Dippin Dots's 2.0. Sbarro also leads on ratings volume (1.7K vs 5) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). Dippin Dots's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (50% vs 22%). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Sbarro holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sbarro has 1.7K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of Sbarro's written reviews are positive against 50% of Dippin Dots's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Sbarro ships an update fortnightly, Dippin Dots monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
