Verdict
The clearest difference is price: Hail Trace at Free against RadarScope's $9.99. Hail Trace also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). RadarScope's advantage is rating (4.2 vs 3.3) and chart position (#1 vs #203). On ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Hail Trace is free to download; RadarScope costs $9.99 up front. RadarScope sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. Hail Trace asks for nothing beyond the download.
RadarScope holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RadarScope has 2.8K ratings behind it against 122, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of RadarScope's written reviews are positive against 62% of Hail Trace's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
RadarScope ships an update monthly, Hail Trace every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 17, 2026.
