Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Dazed Magazine at 5.0 against The Wire's 4.0. The Wire's advantage is ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Dazed Magazine sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and The Wire sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Dazed Magazine holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Wire has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Dazed Magazine's written reviews are positive against 45% of The Wire's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
