Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is monetization model: BudgetNest at freemium against Account Tracker's subscription. BudgetNest also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 months). Account Tracker's advantage is ratings volume (34 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Account Tracker sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 3 months and BudgetNest sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

BudgetNest holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Account Tracker has 34 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 96% of Account Tracker's written reviews are positive against 100% of BudgetNest's.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Account Tracker ships an update every 2 months, BudgetNest every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
