Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Breathe2Relax at free against Relax with A. Johnson's free with in-app purchases. Breathe2Relax also leads on rating (4.2 vs 3.9) and ratings volume (317 vs 32). Relax with A. Johnson's advantage is update cadence (every 5 months vs every 24 months) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Breathe2Relax holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Breathe2Relax has 317 ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of Relax with A. Johnson's written reviews are positive against 78% of Breathe2Relax's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Relax with A. Johnson ships an update every 5 months, Breathe2Relax every 24 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
