Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Transit Alarm at 86% against UTA On Demand's 30%. Transit Alarm also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 15.0). UTA On Demand's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 2.0) and ratings volume (2.5K vs 2). Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
UTA On Demand holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UTA On Demand has 2.5K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Transit Alarm's written reviews are positive against 30% of UTA On Demand's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Transit Alarm ships an update every 3 weeks, UTA On Demand monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
