Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Pst Mail at 71% against Quicken Classic's 11%. Pst Mail also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.1). Quicken Classic's advantage is price (Free vs $9.99) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Quicken Classic is free to download; Pst Mail costs $9.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Quicken Classic holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Quicken Classic has 15K ratings behind it against 41, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Pst Mail's written reviews are positive against 11% of Quicken Classic's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Pst Mail ships an update every 5 months, Quicken Classic every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
