Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: ESPN LA at 4.7 against Los Angeles Rams's 4.2. ESPN LA also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (1.9K vs 406). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
ESPN LA holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 406 and 1.9K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of Los Angeles Rams's written reviews are positive against 39% of ESPN LA's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Los Angeles Rams ships an update every 4 months, ESPN LA every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
