Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Masquerade Dance at none against KAR's 1. Masquerade Dance also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.2) and device support (3 vs 1). KAR's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months). On price, ratings volume and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. KAR sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Masquerade Dance asks for nothing beyond the download.
Masquerade Dance holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 588 and 243 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of KAR's written reviews are positive against 44% of Masquerade Dance's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
KAR ships an update every 9 days, Masquerade Dance every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
