Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Fetch Resident at 4.5 against OpenPaths's 2.3. Fetch Resident also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 35 months) and ratings volume (22K vs 3). OpenPaths's advantage is review sentiment (44% vs 8%) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Fetch Resident holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fetch Resident has 22K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of OpenPaths's written reviews are positive against 8% of Fetch Resident's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
OpenPaths ships an update every 35 months, Fetch Resident fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
