Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: RA Guide at 4.9 against Select Radio's 4.0. RA Guide also leads on update cadence (every 11 days vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (8.2K vs 2). Select Radio's advantage is review sentiment (77% vs 52%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
RA Guide holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RA Guide has 8.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of Select Radio's written reviews are positive against 52% of RA Guide's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Select Radio ships an update every 6 months, RA Guide every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
