Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Pavarotti at 5.0 against Met Opera on Demand's 2.4. Pavarotti also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months). Met Opera on Demand's advantage is ratings volume (38 vs 1) and chart position (#134 vs unranked). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Pavarotti holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Met Opera on Demand has 38 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 27% of Met Opera on Demand's written reviews are positive against 20% of Pavarotti's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Met Opera on Demand ships an update every 2 months, Pavarotti every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
