Find out your current location on a GB Map, whilst in Great Britain. This app will give you your GB Grid Ref (Ordnance Survey / OS Grid Reference), along with a Compass Bearing and Latitude and Longitude values in both OSGB36 and WGS84 formats. The accuracy of the Device GPS signal will also be shown. Includes a handy graphical guide to the "National Grid" system. Whilst the app will work worldwide, the values given will only be of use within the United Kingdom. Ideal for use on walks. Always carry a map and physical compass in addition to your iPhone. For the best accuracy, use in an open space, away from trees or hill edges. Like a traditional compass, use with the phone in a flat position, not upright. When continued usage is required, you can set the iPhone Screen to stay on indefinitely, from the Settings tab. Send or Share your location information in a Text Message (or iMessage), Email or Tweet* This app requires Location Services to be enabled in your iPhone, and you must grant permission to the app to use these. Compatible with iPhone. Not compatible with iPod Touch, or (non-cellular) iPads, due to the lack of GPS and Compass hardware. * - Internet Connection, and correctly configured Text Message (or iMessage), Email and / or Twitter settings, required to fulfil. -- A sister app is now available for use in Ireland. Please search for Irish Grid Ref Compass.

Ever been frustrated when people can't find your house or office despite having an address and a Post Code or Zip Code? Or do you need to permanently pinpoint a location somewhere? Well PostCodeStar is for you. We've chopped up the entire surface of the Earth into around 16 trillion squares of approximately 3m squared and condensed it all into a few characters after a post / zip code. Add a short extension to international post codes / zip codes to pinpoint any location to within 3m. So that's a resolution of just 3m and just with a few characters after the normal post / zip code. Handy yeah? Oh, and your codes are free for ever. You can share star codes with anyone. Entering a star code in the search box or following a shared link opens the location in PostCodeStar and you can navigate with Google Maps. The benefits of PostCodeStar: * Using characters rather than words means there is no need for translation into multiple languages. * PostCodeStar utilises the existing, easily recognised post code system where available so it's just a case of adding a few characters at the end. * There's no risk of mispronouncing words or misunderstanding due to accents or reading abilities. Letters can be read out phonetically and there are only a few of them! * It's way quicker to type a few characters than huge long co-ordinates or words. * PostCodeStar is so accurate. You can pinpoint any 1 square metre location, anywhere in the world. On water, up a mountain, in a tent in a field, up a ski slope, in the Australian Outback... no address required. How awesome is that?
