Liftshare is the UK & Ireland’s largest public car sharing network, with almost 700,000 members. It’s a free-to-use journey matching platform for drivers and passengers taking both regular and one-off journeys. Liftshare provides a journey cost estimate to help sharers know how much to contribute. Liftshare members save £1034 a year, on average. They cut their fuel costs in half by sharing with just one other person. The Liftshare app displays your personal CO2e savings so you can see how much your sharing is helping the environment. Use the app to find and review journey matches, message other members and ask to share. There are also regular member rewards available for Liftshare public members from our select partners. Liftshare for Work utilises the Liftshare platform to enable sharing between colleagues and reduce an organisation’s commuting emissions. These employer-led and -branded Liftshare communities provide a closed/private car share scheme for employees (with public matches optional). The user will receive all the tried and tested features of the Liftshare app, and can see personal as well as community CO2e savings. The employer can monitor lift-sharing stats, measure site and company-wide CO2 emission reduction, plus manage members. With the addition of Liftshare parking permits, members can authenticate their journey in the app to receive a priority parking space at work on the day they car share. CommuteJournal is a privacy-first tool that logs multi-modal legs of your commute and provides a carbon saving reporting. Modes that can be logged are: walking, running, cycling, driving, car sharing, bus and train. Using CommuteJournal with the CommuteBoost rewards engine encourages participation in sustainable travel initiatives with rewards and incentives set against specific challenges. Commute Boost is a rewards engine where users can collect boosts for using sustainable travel modes. Employers can set targeted rewards that work for both the company and its staff – from additional annual leave to parking spaces, or even merchandise. Challenges can be set daily, weekly, monthly or ongoing. For example, Bike Week could be used to promote active travel and encourage physical wellbeing.
