Broken Redirects
A recent update broke the redirect functionality when purchasing tickets. It used to redirect reliably to the website of whichever company operates the train you’ll be boarding e.g. Northern Rail, but now it’s seemingly random as to which ticket reseller’s site it directs to which makes buying tickets slower and less convenient as every site has its own registration requirement. Sometimes the redirect fails entirely and the app needs restarting.

Awful update
I kept getting an error 404 message when I opened the National Rail app so deleted it as thought that would clear it. Unfortunately the previous app has gone and been replaced with this awful update. It’s just messy but the other one worked fine.
Please restore it to how it was before.
I really wish I hadn’t deleted the app now. I could live with the error message popping up.

Good but fails with some station closures
For the majority of the time you get good information on the train services and you plan your journey easily. Occasionally it doesn’t tell you about some station closures and so your journey is completely messed up. For example Fenchurch street in London is sometimes closed after certain hours in the evening and last night it was after 830pm. The app doesn’t tell you this so you travel there only to find it’s closed and train it tell you is running from does not. Very frustrating

Fraudulent??
I downloaded the app then I created account and gave them my credit card information. immediately I got a fraud alert, and my credit card had to be shut down now I'm waiting for my new card. I'm gonna try another train app instead of national rail
No longer useable
This went from an excellent app to one that takes so long to open that the trains have already departed before you get a response. I used to love it, not any more.

Terrible and inaccessible
Terrible app, it takes ages to find anywhere, especially as I use VoiceOver. I’ve switched to Railboard, it’s the perfect app for train times.
Crashes, freezes, and random zooms?
The app back in 2008 was better. This one freezes every so often, demands to zoom in whenever you want to type something, and makes it very difficult to go back or forward in time to find trains.

Ruined by updates
Been using the app for 12 years and it's always been great, easy to use and reliable. With the latest update it's now more difficult to use, can't seem to search for services more than an hour or so passed which was handy for work! The interface is much less user friendly than before. And you now cannot see "passing points / stations" like you were previously able to. Again, which was very useful for my work!

Disappointed
This app has got progressively worse to the point where I now try to avoid using it. Why won’t it let you select London as a destination?- it used to. Why can’t you opt to see trains that have already departed? How are you meant to check the progress of your own journey if you can’t do that?

Very slow to show updates
The app is really slow to show live train times. Google maps does a better job than this app

Waste of time
The ‘new’ version of this app is useless - it’s just the webpage put into an app interface. Cant view previous train running time like before. Now deleted and have changed to the ‘Railboard’ app as recommended by a friend - much for useful.
Style over substance
App has always worked well and although the UI is arguably better the user ability has been completely ruined with latest version. Consistently crashes and so far no update to fix these bugs.
Bring back the old version
The old app was simple and so helpful, it was quick to get the information required. Live trains and plan journey could save different info, whereas now it defaults to the same stations for each tab?? And I can’t easily go between tabs once on the plan a journey section. Just completely unusable now.
